The NSWRL has launched the season at a luncheon at Lilyfield's Le Montage, with the senior competitions – Intrust Super Premiership NSW, Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield – kicking off on Saturday week (4 March), while the junior representative competitions head into Round 3 this weekend.
The Illawarra Cutters enter the season as the team to beat after succesfully winning the Intrust Super Premiership NSW last year, while Mounties are out for revenge after securing the minor premiership but going down by a single point in the grand final.
