A vital two points earned for the Panthers, so too was it important win for the Wests Tigers in their clash with the Newtown Jets at Henson Park.

Fullback Nick Meaney was the star of the show, having a hand in four of the side's six tries, as Newcastle crept into the top 8 on the back of the 12-point win.
