Westpac NSW Blues James Tedesco, Junior Paulo, Reece Robson, Hudson Young, Clint Gutherson and Nicho Hynes have called on all Rugby League players to sign up for the 2024 NSWRL season with most Community Competitions scheduled to kick off next month.
The Blues players teamed up to speak about the experiences they had playing junior Rugby League and the positive impact that it had on their lives when they came together for a pre-season camp at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence last month.
Gutherson opens the video by urging any players who haven't registered yet to get involved, while Young reminds participants they'll have fun playing the Game for All.
Tedesco said he took plenty of life lessons out of his days playing Junior Rugby League in Sydney's south-west.
“The Camden Rams taught me so much which still helps me today on and off the field," he said.
Various formats are available for the Game for All, including Tackle and Tag, Try Time, Physical Disability and Wheelchair Rugby League.
The NRL launched the 2024 Community Rugby League season today, with junior Rugby League players from South Sydney, Hurstville and Penrith turning up for the event at Pioneers Park in Malabar.
The NSWRL enjoyed a record-breaking season for participation in 2023 with 112,767 players signing up for the game for all. There was an almost five per cent increase for male participants (86,590) while female participation was up by more than 14 per cent (26,187).
