Brad Fittler was a precocious and prodigious talent from the time he made his first grade debut. Whether at centre, five eighth or even lock later in his career, Fittler was the ultimate package – apart from his agility and balance, he had the best sidestep in the game, great skill and tremendous defence. After starring as a player at club, Origin and international level for a decade and a half Fittler has, since retirement, become an erudite media commentator and is the current coach of the successful Bryden’s NSW Blues.
