Supremely gifted, Steve Rogers had a devastating mix of speed, balance, craftiness as well as one of the best tackling techniques of his or any era. A consistently outstanding player at all levels of the game he was cruelly fated to never win a premiership, but his efforts on the international stage provided ample compensation. Rogers contribution to the successful Kangaroo tours of 1978 and 1982 underlined his quality and showed why many consider him to be the most complete player of all time.
