The NSW Indigenous U16s arrived in the Gold Coast yesterday ahead of their curtain-raising clash with Queensland at the NRL All Stars v Indigenous All Stars game on Friday at CBUS Stadium.

The team were greeted by Indigenous rugby league legend Preston Campbell, who attended their first training session and offered some words of encouragement for the week ahead.

"This is a great pathway into a future in Rugby League for all of you," said Campbell.

"There's a lot of talented Indigenous Rugby League players in our game and this is your chance to show that you're one of the next ones coming through."

A highlight of the week will be the presentation of jerseys to the team from members of the Indigenous All Stars including former NSW Indigenous U16 players Ryan James and Alex Johnston.

NSWRL TV caught up with Braeden Stewart, Joshua Curran and Tyson Hodge to see how they were feeling about the week ahead.
