We are officially 50 days away from the NSWRL grand final as we kick off the Wishleague round in the VB NSW Cup.
Carrying on the tradition from last year, the Wishleague round hopes to raise more than $30,000 and grant five wishes for the Starlight Foundation.
It’s a three-way tie at the top of the ladder for the VB NSW Cup, with Mounties, Wyong and the Warriors all sitting on 30 points.
With a marginal points difference between the top eight – we are looking forward to a cracking weekend of footy, but the highlight game of the round will be the do-or-die clash between Wests Tigers and Newtown on Fox Sports on Saturday at 10:40am.
Mounties have stretched their lead at the top of the ladder in the Ron Massey Cup – now boasting a six-point lead on the second-placed Wentworthville.
Mounties’ match against fifth placed Windsor on Sunday at Lidcombe Oval at 3pm will be one to watch.
Wrapping up the senior competitions is the Sydney Shield with the Wentworthville Magpies still clinging to their perch at the top of the table, but it’s the third placed Mounties taking on the fourth placed Hills District on Sunday from 2pm at Crestwood Oval that will have everyone on the edge of their seats.
NSWRL are turning back time with True Blue Steve ‘ Blocker’ Roach in the first instalment of his weekly catch-ups with many of our Origin Greats.
We will also be dedicating next weekend to Kurt Drysdale in the Unite For Kurt round on August 15 and 16, where Cabramatta will be wearing a specially designed jersey aimed to help raise funds for the 21-year-old, who suffered a serious neck injury.
