The rugby league community continues to rally behind seriously injured Cabramatta player Kurt Drysdale, with fundraising efforts so far totalling more than $60,000 and thousands more expected to be raised in coming weeks across a range of Unite for Kurt activities – all the details can be found on the community tab at NSWRL.com.au

Looking ahead to this week in NSWRL – the finish line is within grasp as we head into Round 24 this weekend, leaving only one more weekend for teams to cement their top eight spot.

Kicking off is the VB NSW Cup clash FOX SPORTS Match of the round, where Newtown Jets will be firing on all cylinders in their last ditch attempt to make the finals when they take on the 6th placed Newcastle Knights.

The Jets, sitting three points outside the top eight – will be using last week’s heartbreaking loss against Penrith as a driving force to get them over the line at Remondis Stadium today.

The Mounties show no signs of slowing down as they continue their reign at the top of the ladder in the Ron Massey Cup, the focus now turned to the tussle at the bottom of the ladder as clubs are fighting tooth and nail to stay in contention.

Cabramatta will benefit from the two points with the bye, where ninth-placed Western Suburbs Magpies will have to use every ounce of ammo to take the two points off Blacktown Workers – who are sitting in fifth spot.

Ringrose Park could provide a Grand Final preview when first and second go head to head – Wentworthville Magpies still sit four points clear of second-placed Windsor wolves, but the Wolves will be seeking revenge after their eight-point loss in round 10 earlier this year – certainly a game not to be missed.

True Blue Steve ‘Blocker’ Roach headed over to the Northern Beaches to test out the coffee-making skills of NSW try scoring machine – Ryan Gidler in this week’s Turn Back Time.

NSWRL will also preview the Ronny Gibbs Shield, which takes place in Bourke on Wednesday.
