You can't take Newcastle out of the blood and life of Matthew Gidley, who played 221 NRL games for the club, was a part of the 2001 premiership winning side, and is their current CEO.

He was also an imperative part of the NSW Origin side from 2000 until 2004; playing 11 games for his state that included five tries.
