The Suncorp Stadium surface is in good condition for tonight's Origin blockbuster despite Jeff Horn’s world-title boxing fight against Manny Pacquiao taking place at the ground less than two weeks ago.

Ground staff have been repairing the surface since the fight, and were not helped by a Super Rugby match being played in wet conditions last Friday.

Different parts of the turf had to be stomped back into place during the game, while artificial lights were used to help speed up the growth process in time for tonight’s all-important Origin decider.

Stadium boss Alan Graham declared the ground had passed testing, and ensured the surface will not be too slippery for the players.

There is some patchy areas on and around the sidelines but overall the surface appears firm and fast, ensuring a high-quality match of football this evening.
