To whet the appetite ahead of the 2018 Rugby League season, NSWRL.com.au looks at some of the up-and-coming male and female stars who will hope to represent NSW. Today, we run the eye over another young representative who's been followed by success throughout the junior ranks.
Pedigree – young Parramatta rake Kyle Schneider has it in spades. After leading his Eels to an undefeated Harold Matthews season in 2016, the Central Coast-raised junior helped his side to the 2017 SG Ball title… then he helped the NSW Under-18s to victory in the curtain-raiser to Origin II, too.
Coached by NSW True Blue and Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler in the NSW junior system, it was quite the season for the scheming dummy-half.
“It’s definitely been a great year – it’ll definitely sit high on my level of achievements,” Schneider tells NSWRL.com.au.
“Freddy’s great as a coach, he treats all the boys with respect and tells it’s how it is – the boys know where they stand and what they need to work on.”
The Lake Haven junior has plenty to look forward to in 2018, not hiding his ambition to play in the top grade, and then some, in the years ahead.
The 2017 Australian Schoolboys representative will link up with Fittler again in the future, selected in the Emerging Blues camp. Keep an eye on Schneider in 2018 and beyond – he’s without doubt one of New South Wales’ fresh faces going places.
