NSW Under-18 coach Mark O'Meley has his final say on what each player will bring to the Melbourne Cricket Ground tomorrow evening.
John-Paul Nohra
JP is very knowledgeable and a very honest player. He’s really consistent and will be the linchpin of our defensive line.
Jason Saab
Jason been in great form this year in the (UNE) SG Ball. He’s a great newcomer with lots of potential and brought lots of energy [to the side].
Bradman Best
Bradman been a quality player for some time and he’s had some up’s and downs with injury, but he’s hit some great form this season.
Bronson Xerri
Along with Best, he’s probably one of the best centres in the competition. You can’t split between Bradman and Bronson and they are both ultimate professionals.
Tallis Angianga
He’s a really strong ball runner who brings lots of energy and someone who is really grateful for this opportunity.
Jock Madden
Jock was the form halfback of the competition and could be unlucky to not be in the squad last year, but his taken his game to a whole new level this year.
Phoenix Crossland
He had a bit of an up and down year, but he’s done a really good job over the past two years and his football awareness is second to none.
Spencer Leniu
Spencer really ramped it up yesterday at training with his aggression and it shows that he knows what his role is at front-row. He’s got a big future ahead of him.
Maurice Trindall
He’s just like his namesake – he’s tricky and a cheeky one but he’s football awareness is very good.
Stefano Utoikamanu
He got more confident and confident all year. He trained really well yesterday, and for a big frame he’s got great movement, a great offload and has plenty of tools in his tool bag.
Egan Butcher
Butch keeps reserved amongst the boys but obviously a dynamic and powerful player on the edge and has a lot of X-Factor about him
Shawn Blore
This is his third year in the program and has NRL written all over him. It’s up to him how he handles himself, but he’s a natural leader by actions so we gave him the responsibility of being our captain and has been doing very well at training.
Duwayne Fuimaono
He showed what a good attitude can do. He’s been outstanding in his last two years and he shows a lot of character with the team and backs it up on the field.
Tommy Talau
He’s started to come out of his shell. He’s Mr. Utility and can play any position. He’ll do a great job wherever I need to put him.
Matthew Doorey
He’s a strong back-rower whose had some experience in the Under 20’s He’s getting more confident the more he plays and he has a big future ahead of him.
Jalal Bazzaz
He always gives 100% and our modern-day Luke O’Donnell. He won’t take a backward step, he’ll take the game to the opposition and I’m really looking forward to seeing his impact off the bench.
Jaron Purcell
His attention to detail is second to none plus his groundwork and wrestle is great. He plays particular attention to the little things and that’s a great aspect as a rugby league player. He’s obviously a year young but I have no issues with bringing him in.
