Cook's special day caps stellar season

Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues hooker Damien Cook has capped off a remarkable season in the best possible fashion – by tying the knot with his partner Courtney Blaine.

Cook exchanged vows with Blaine at Royal Randwick racecourse on Friday before a reception was held attended by some of the NRL's biggest names.

The South Sydney No.9 had postponed his wedding after being selected to make his debut for the Australian Kangaroos in the end-of-season Tests against New Zealand and Tonga.

"Thank you to everyone who made this day extra special," Cook posted on Instagram.

Cook started the season vying for the No.9 jumper at the Rabbitohs and finished as the incumbent hooker for NSW and the Kangaroos. He took out the People's Choice award for the NSW Blues and the Dally Ms, and won the George Piggins Medal for the Rabbitohs best and fairest player.

The guest list at his wedding included fellow Rabbitohs Sam Burgess and Greg Inglis, and Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'Landys.
