The Newtown Jets have made one of the biggest signings in Intrust Super Premiership NSW history, luring New Zealand international Greg Eastwood to the club.
In a signing similar to Mark O'Meley joining the Wyong Roos a few years ago, Eastwood has signed exclusively with the Jets meaning he will play out the entire Intrust Super Premiership NSW season in the royal blue.
The Jets will be hoping to go one better in 2019 as they fell short in the Grand Final to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Ironically, Eastwood played in the winning team that day.
Eastwood brings 241 NRL games of experience to Newtown, and he has represented his country a massive 27 times that included a historic World Cup victory in 2008.
Newtown have a relatively young squad, many of which that have recently graduated from the Jersey Flegg system, plus a number of young Sharks-contracted players will turn out for the Jets this year. Eastwood's experience will be massive for them given he's played 14 years of top-level Rugby League.
