NSW Women's Premiership heats up for Semi-Finals

The focus will shift to Leichhardt Oval this weekend when the sudden death Semi-Finals kick off for the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership.

Wests Tigers, who finished the season in sixth place and knocked out Wentworthville Magpies in an Elimination Final, will be up against the North Sydney Bears, who finished the season in third place and lost their Qualifying Final to CRL Newcastle.

The Bears line-up includes NSW Women’s Origin representatives Kirra Dib and Shontelle Stowers while the Tigers have Botille Vette-Welsh.

The winner will face minor premier Mounties in next weekend’s Preliminary Final, after they earned a week off following their win over Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in week one of the finals.

The other match will see the fourth-placed Sharks face off against St Marys Saints after they were too strong for Cabramatta in their Elimination Final. The winner of that match will go on to face CRL Newcastle, who have also moved through to the Preliminary Final after their win.

The Sharks boast a strong line-up with Corban McGregor and Maddie Studdon having represented the NSW Women’s Origin team in 2019, while Ruan Sims has played for NSW and the Jillaroos.
