Max Bailey enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in 2019 as he helped the North Sydney Bears to finals football and a top-four finish.
Although the foundation club exited the premiership race with back-to-back losses in the finals, Bailey can reflect proudly on a year that saw him earn a place in the 2019 Team of the Year.
His selection was on the back of some barnstorming performances such as the one he produced in Round 10 of the Canterbury Cup NSW season (Magic Round), where he recorded three tries, three line-breaks, 147m, and 23 tackles in a 34-20 victory over Wentworthville Magpies.
He finished the campaign ranked fifth in the competition for total run-metres (3129) and seventh in total tackles (723) in his 23 appearances.
He was rewarded with one appearance at the Perth Nines with the Sydney Roosters, and has been earmarked as a player who can certainly press his claims for a first-grade debut when the competition returns on 28 May.
