Country v City Wheelchair Rugby League comes to Queanbeyan

New South Wales Wheelchair Rugby League (NSWWRL) is bringing their sixth annual Country v City event to Queanbeyan Indoor Sports Centre this Sunday (18 October).

As part of the NSWWRL representative program, each team boasts 14 current Australian / State of Origin wheelchair representative players and last year’s contest ended in a 36-all draw so NSWWRL Chairman Edie George expects Sunday’s game to be hotly contested.

“I’m proud of everyone’s efforts to get this event started and continued for so long and I have to praise efforts committee members, players, volunteers who have put in the work for us to hold this event year in, year out,” George said.

“At New South Wales Wheelchair Rugby League we are excited and grateful that we’re actually able to hold the Country versus City event.

“A lot of hard work by a number of our committee members has gone in to actually get the event running and thanks to Queanbeyan for allowing us to hold the event there.”

The Score Raiders will take part in two Intellectual Disability Rugby League matches before the main game at Seiffert Oval starting at 10.30am, in what will be their first hit-out of the year.
