The duel between Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues teammates Tom Trbojevic and Cameron Murray could determine the Preliminary Final between South Sydney Rabbitohs and Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at Suncorp Stadium tomorrow night, according to True Blue Andrew Johns.
Murray and the Rabbitohs will be fresh after a week off from beating Penrith in the opening week of the finals while Trbojevic will be hoping to deliver the same type of performance for the Sea Eagles that saw him prove too strong for the Sydney Roosters in last week’s Semi-final.
“The big match-up for me is ‘Turbo’ up against Cam Murray because Turbo’s real danger is around the ruck, when he sees a quick play-the-ball,” Johns told Freddy and The Eighth for Wide World of Sports.
“He (Trbojevic) sees room around the ruck and just goes ‘Whack’ and the person trying to stop that is Cam Murray.
“Cam will be chopping him low, around the belly button. I can’t wait for this match-up of Turbo and Cam.”
In the vein of former Sea Eagles premiership winners, backrower Glenn Stewart and his younger brother Brett at fullback, Channel Nine commentator and NSW coach Brad Fittler said he was hoping to see another combination fire in Josh Schuster and Trbojevic.
“The other one is Schuster,” Fittler said.
“I think (coach) Des (Hasler) has told him to calm his game down and play a bit more percentage.
“It will be interesting because there’s not many players who do what he does – he’s a ball player playing wider.
“I haven’t seen Schuster and Tom combine for a month or so. They were doing that throughout the whole season, so it will be interesting to see the directions Des gives Schuster.
“Either side can win without a doubt.”
