The Parramatta Eels have received a major boost after captain Clint Gutherson ended months of speculation about his future by re-signing with the club for another three seasons.
The talismanic fullback has been a key to his side’s success in recent years and his impact will again prove crucial if the Eels are to improve on their Semi-final finish in 2021.
He played 25 games this season for 13 tries, 20 try assists, 14 lines breaks and 170 average running metres.
Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said he was “delighted” to announce the 27-year-old’s re-commitment to the club.
“Clint is a key leader of the club and the energy and commitment he brings to work every day is unparalleled,” O’Neill said.
“Additionally, his on-field performances week in and week out are always at a consistently high level.”
Gutherson has played 139 NRL games and made three appearances for the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues in 2020. He also featured in Brad Fittler’s extended Blues squad during the 2021 Ampol State of Origin series.
