Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues winger Brian To’o will be sidelined for up to eight weeks after scans revealed he had suffered a knee injury following the Panthers four-point win over the Dragons at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Friday night.
The news is somewhat of a silver lining after fears To’o would miss the rest of the season with a suspected ACL injury.
To’o departed the field just eight minutes after the halftime break with the Panthers holding on to a 14-point lead against the Dragons.
The premiership-winning winger, who made his debut for the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues last season, is expected to be back on the field by mid-May. That keeps his selection hopes alive of playing in the Origin series again with Game One at Accord Stadium to be played on Wednesday 9 June.
The Panthers are also expected to see the return of halfback Nathan Cleary soon after off-season shoulder surgery delayed his start to the season.
