Harvey Norman NSW Sky Blues prop Millie Boyle has signed with Newcastle Knights for the 2022 NRLW season. As far as birthday gifts go, a new deal with the Knights is a memorable one for Boyle who turns 24 today.
Boyle has spent the past four seasons with NRLW heavyweights, Brisbane Broncos where she has an incredible record of 11 wins from 13 games, including back-to-back Premierships in 2019-20.
Since making the switch from Rugby Union to Rugby League after 2018, Boyle was named NRLW Rookie of the Year in 2019 and has since become a dual international. She has gone on to represent NSW in the State of Origin arena on three separate occasions, establishing herself as the premier prop in the competition in the process.
With a list of stellar achievements to her name already, Boyle was named joint Dally M winner for the 2021 season alongside St George Illawarra Dragons fullback Emma Tonegato after averaging 18 hit-ups and 198 metres per game, and scoring three tries.
“I couldn’t be more excited to arrive in Newcastle and experience what it’s like to run out in a Knights jersey,” Boyle told newcastleknights.com.au.
“Everyone knows how passionate this town is about footy and all of the NRLW girls experienced that in Round One this season.
“The team at the Knights are building and will be very competitive; there’s a good mix of experienced players and really exciting young talent coming through. This season can’t come soon enough.”
