True Blue James Tamou is returning to the club where he made his representative debut for both NSW and Australia – the North Queensland Cowboys.
The 33-year-old played 14 games for the NSW Blues (2012-2016) including winning the 2014 Origin series.
He played 171 games for the Cowboys including the 2015 NRL Premiership over the Broncos, before 97 games for the Penrith Panthers including the 2020 Grand Final loss to the Storm.
Tamou entered the elite ‘NRL 300 Games’ club in his two seasons (2021-22) with the Wests Tigers.
But he will return to the Cowboys in 2023 after an absence of six years.
“We are excited to be able to add a player of James’ experience to our roster at this late stage, just prior to the commencement of our pre-season,” Cowboys General Manager of Football Micheal Luck told cowboys.com.au.
“He will bring professionalism and a strong work ethic, while also adding significant depth and leadership to our forward pack.”
