North Queensland Cowboys hooker Reece Robson has re-signed with the club until the end of 2025 after a breakout season in 2022.
Robson, whose stellar form earned him a spot in the Brydens Lawyers NSW Blues extended squad for Game Three this year, played a pivotal role in the Cowboys third-place finish and established himself as one of the premier dummy-halves in the competition.
After managing nine games in two seasons for St George Illawarra Dragons, Robson made the move to North Queensland in 2020 and solidified a position in the Cowboys starting line-up as a 80-minute player.
In 2022 Robson played 26 games for seven tries, eight try assists, seven linebreak assists, 75 running metres per game and a massive 42.4 tackles per game - the fourth highest in the competition.
His defensive prowess was on full display in the Cowboys Qualifying Final win over the Sharks when he made 59 tackles in the 93-minute blockbuster.
“Reece has developed into a cornerstone of our team,” Cowboys General Manager of Football Micheal Luck said.
“He brings enthusiasm and intensity every day at training, and we believe he is one of the best hookers in the game currently.
“With Reece agreeing to stay for another two seasons we have our entire spine locked up until at least the end of the 2024 season and we are really excited to see how Reece continues to develop over the next three seasons.”
