Canberra Raiders forward Hudson Young will remain in the country’s capital until the end of 2027 after signing a three-year extension with the club.
It caps a memorable season for the 25-year-old back-rower after he was selected to make his debut for the Westpac NSW Blues and played in the opening two games of the series.
Young, who is closing in on 100 appearances for the club, was off contract at the end of next season but said staying put with the Green Machine was the right choice for his future.
“This club means everything to me and my family, and it’s been home for me since 2017, and I’m really excited to extend my stay,” Young told raiders.com.au.
“My partner and I are really settled here and I’m happy off the field and, on the field, and I’m really excited about the squad we are building.
“I’ve worked really close with Ricky and the coaches and the biggest goal is to win a premiership here at the Raiders.”
Young has been a workhorse for the Raiders, helping his team push for a spot in the top eight. He has averaged 104 running metres per game, nine tries, 36 offloads and an astounding 671 tackles.
The skilful back-rower has played 96 NRL games since making his NRL debut in 2019 and will line up for the Elimination Final against the Newcastle Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday.
