The Ampol State of Origin series returns to Melbourne in 2024 after a six-year absence with NSW’s The Star Blatchys Blues fans able to secure their tickets from today (Monday 6 November).
The Victorian capital has hosted nine Origin games since the first in 1990, with five of those being staged at the world-famous MCG.
The Westpac NSW Blues have won four of those five including the most recent two fixtures – a 22-12 win over the Maroons in Game One 2018, which was Nathan Cleary’s debut, and a 26-18 Game Two win in 2015.
Next year it will mark a Game Two return to the MCG on Wednesday 26 June.
Tickets for Blatchys Blues went on sale at 10am today with the NSW Blues keen to have as many as possible in the MCG stands to help them wrestle the Origin trophy away from Queensland.
