10 to Watch in '24 | Brooke Talataina

Sydney Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup vice-captain Brooke Talataina has a long and fruitful Rugby League career ahead of her, according to the club’s pathways manager Blake Cavallaro.

The talented five-eighth was part of the Roosters’ 2023 premiership in the NSWRL’s Under 19s women’s competition, scoring a try in the 26-22 win over Canterbury-Bankstown in the Grand Final.

Talataina played No.6 in both the NSW City Under 19s and NSW Under 19s State of Origin teams in 2023.

She turns 20 this year and will be determined to leave another stellar season in her wake, after her final season in Tarsha Gale Cup produced eight tries, six try assists, 11 line-breaks, six line-break assists and 31 tackle-busts.

“She’s got a great footy IQ way above her years,” Cavallaro told nswrl.com.au

“She’s a strong and physical player, who is not scared to take the line on and adapt to any situation on the field.

“Brooke’s other strength is that she’s consistent week in and week out. She’ll play NRLW for the next 10 years.”

Talataina made her NRLW debut in 2023 with three games for the Wests Tigers.
