The NSWRL was deeply saddened to hear that True Blue, Kangaroos tourist and proud Kurri Kurri junior, Rees Duncan, has passed away. He was 92.

Duncan played 60 first grade games for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and Western Suburbs Magpies, including captaining the Sea Eagles side in 1954.

A talented centre and five-eighth, Duncan played five games for NSW, scoring two tries in 1952-53. He also played four matches for NSW Country Firsts.

Rees also represented Newcastle in tour matches against France in 1951 and 1960.

A member of the 1952 Kangaroos to tour England and France, Duncan played 18 matches but his only two Tests were against New Zealand earlier that season.

His father Rees Duncan Senior was also a True Blue having played six games for the NSW Firsts in 1931-32 playing every forwards position – front row, second row and hooker.

The NSWRL passes on its sincere condolences to his family and friends.
