Touch judge Ben Teague has reached the significant milestone of 300 NSWRL games across all grades.
Running the sideline for the Blacktown Workers-Warringah-Sydney Roosters game in The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup at 4 Pines Park last weekend gave Teague (pictured above, on right) the honour of reaching rarified air in the officiating world.
“Ben has been an integral part of our squad and a true leader,” said NSWRL Referees High Performance Manager, Stuart Raper.
“It’s fitting to not only recognise the triple century but also the fact he’s had the extra travel time because he lives in Newcastle.
“He came into our High Performance Squad in 2014 and despite that greater distance he has to make every week he rarely misses a session with us.
“That’s testament to his dedication to his fitness and the commitment in Rugby League.”
From his 300 games, more than half of them have been officiating in NSW Cup games.
Teague became NRL Referee #160 in March 2022 handling the Canberra Raiders-Manly Warringah at Glen Willow Oval in Mudgee.
He was part of the officiating team for the 2022 and 2023 Grand Finals of the Leagues Clubs Australia Ron Massey Cup, the Sydney Shield Grand Final in 2017, plus countless finals games in NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg.
