Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles half Jamie Humphreys has signed a two-year contract with the South Sydney Rabbitohs the day after making his NRL debut for Manly Warringah at 4 Pines Park against the Newcastle Knights.
Rabbitohs Head of Football Mark Ellison said the club had been keeping its eye on the 22-year-old star from The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for a number of years.
“We have always been impressed by his style of play and his work ethic,” Ellison told Rabbitohs.com.au
“He made his first-grade debut yesterday, scoring a try and kicking three goals, and we have seen him play a number of games in the pre-season challenge.
“He has always played strongly at either hooker or in the halves.”
Humphreys has scored four tries in 16 games for Blacktown Workers this year, alongside seven try assists and 28 goals.
Overall he has 29 games in NSW Cup in his three years with the club playing five-eighth, halfback, and hooker.
He also won Manly Warringah’s Jersey Flegg Cup Players’ Player award in 2023.
“His versatility is a positive for our squad and we’re looking forward to having him join us for pre-season in November as he embarks on the next stage of his career in the red and green,” Ellison said.
