Westpac NSW Under 19s stars Indie Bostock and Maria Paseka both scored tries for the Illawarra Steelers in a comfortable 50-6 win over the Wests Tigers in Round Two action of the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership last weekend.
It was Bostock’s debut in the NSWRL’s senior women’s competition, while Paseka made her first Harvey Norman appearance in the Round One 8-4 loss to Mounties.
The pair were part of the Steelers’ Westpac Tarsha Gale Cup premiership-winning team in April this year before a 46-4 win over Queensland in the Under 19s State of Origin in June.
Round Two finished last night (Monday) at NSWRL’s Centre of Excellence, where South Sydney went down to Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 30-8.
It means the Bulldogs and Wentworthville Magpies remain the only two unbeaten teams after two rounds.
The Harvey Norman women’s competition also had its first draw for the 2024 season, when the Central Coast Roosters and Manly Warringah Sea Eagles couldn’t be separated (14-14) after 70 minutes.
Keeping the Sea Eagles in the game was winger Anna Dingley (pictured above) who scored a double.
