Rugby League registrations are now open for the 2025 season and the NSWRL is urging participants of all ages and abilities to get involved to continue to drive record numbers across the state.
More than 117,000 participants (117,566) signed up to play the game in 2024, which represented an increase of 4.6 per cent on 2023.
Male participants climbed past 87,000 (87,489) for the first time, while female participation recorded 14 per cent growth to reach almost 30,000 (29,686).
NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden encouraged participants to sign up for 2025 to ensure another successful season for the “game for all”.
“Rugby League is a great way to learn some new skills and the importance of being part of a team, as well as having plenty of fun and making some lifelong friends along the way,” Trodden said.
“We had a record number of participants sign up to play the game this season and I’m confident the 2025 season will be just as strong.
“There are so many formats available to participants to get involved including traditional (tackle), Blues Tag, Wheelchair Rugby League and Physical Disability Rugby League.
“Whether you’re new to the game or returning to enjoy another season, I encourage all participants to find the club and competition that best suits you and sign up today.”
