Game One of the 2025 Ampol Women’s State of Origin series looks set to break the current attendance record after the match was included in the four-day package for next year’s NRL Magic Round in Brisbane.
The Magic Round (1-4 May) ticket packages went on sale last week and interest is reportedly strong for the four-day option, which gives rise to the hope the current crowd record for a Women’s State of Origin game – 25,782 for Game Two at McDonald Jones Stadium this year – will be broken in 2025.
Game One of the 2025 women’s three-match series is on Thursday 1 May.
Suncorp Stadium was a happy hunting ground for the Westpac NSW Women’s Origin side this year, winning Game One 22-12 before a record crowd of 25,492, which eclipsed the 2023 record.
Game Two next year will be at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium (15 May) with Game Three returning to Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium (29 May).
Newly-appointed NSW Women’s Origin coach John Strange and his squad are keen to return the interstate shield to NSW after Queensland victories in 2023 and 2024.
NSW last won the Origin shield when it was a one-game series in 2022.
