After a memorable 2024 which saw her win two premierships with the Illawarra Steelers, centre Indie Bostock has cemented herself as an emerging force in women’s Rugby League.
At 18-years-old, Bostock has already achieved so much in her football career and will be aiming for an even bigger campaign in 2025.
The centre started the year strongly, being a vital part of the premiership winning Westpac Tarsha Gale Cup team, scoring a double and being named Player of the Match against the Newcastle Knights on Grand Final Day last April.
Bostock finished the Junior Representative season playing all nine games, scoring 15 tries, making 17 line-breaks, 53 tackle breaks and averaging 153 run metres.
Bostock’s form continued throughout the season, earning representative honours when named at centre for both the Westpac Under 19s State of Origin team and the NSW Country U19s team.
The centre bagged a double for Country in their impressive 26-18 win over NSW City in extra time in May, along with scoring a try and running for 138 metres to help NSW bring the shield south of the border in a strong 46-4 win over Queensland in June.
The accolades didn’t finish here with Bostock being a part of the historic Illawarra Steelers team that won the club’s first Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership title.
Across eight games she scored eight tries, had three line-break assists, six line-breaks and 24 tackle breaks.
The teenager capped off the season by being selected for the Australian Schoolgirls team for the second consecutive year – defeating the PNG Junior Orchids 14-4.
Having completed her NRLW development contract with the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2024, Bostock will become a part of the Dragons Top-24 in 2025 and will be eyeing a NRLW debut in the not too distant future.
