Seven members of the NSWRL Major Competitions referees squad will be officiating in this weekend’s All Stars games and NRL trial matches.

NSWRL Referees High Performance Manager Stuart Raper said it was further recognition for the quality of work and training squad members undertook each week.

“We are very encouraged to see so many of our NSWRL officials being given positions at these NRL events and trials,” Raper said.

“Our officials pride themselves on learning their trade to the best of their ability and applying those skills each weekend.

“Our Major Competitions don’t start for another six weeks, so this added experience only deepens their knowledge and experience as we head into the 2025 seasons of NSW Cup, Harvey Norman women’s and Jersey Flegg Under 21s.”

The first representative game of the year will be the Indigenous v Maori Women’s All Stars match at CommBank Stadium with Daniel Luttringer on the touchline and Karra-Lee Nolan as the referee.

Luttringer (pictured above) made his NRL debut in July last year, while Nolan ran the touchline in the NRLW Grand Final last October. She also refereed the Prime Minister’s XIII game between the Jillaroos and PNG Orchids and handled the women’s Pacific Championships Test between PNG and Samoa in November.

The three central referees for NSWRL’s Major Competitions Grand Finals last September are all involved in NRL club trial games this weekend.

Damian Brady, who made his NRL debut in 2023 before being named NSWRL’s Grade Referee of the year, is in charge of the North Queensland-Dolphins game in Cairns on Friday (14 February). Brady refereed the 2024 Jersey Flegg Cup Grand Final.

Mitch Currie, who controlled the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership Grand Final last September, will be touch judge for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v Wests Tigers trial at Kogarah’s Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Sunday (16 February).

Kieren Irons, who refereed The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup Grand Final last year, is officiating in the Newcastle Knights-Parramatta Eels game on Friday at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle.

NSWRL High Performance squad members Luke Saldern and Clayton Wills will be patrolling both sidelines in the South Sydney Rabbitohs-Manly Warringah Sea Eagles trial at Gosford’s Industree Group Stadium on Saturday (15 February).
