True Blues Andrew Ryan and Kylie Hilder will head to Young and Temora tomorrow (Tuesday 18 February) to help deliver the NSW Rugby League’s 2025 Regional Roadshow campaign, which has already spread messages about road safety to more than 7000 teenagers at 50 regional areas around the state since 2017.

The 2025 campaign started today (Monday 17 February) at Cowra with visits to come at Young and Temora (Tuesday 18), and Harden (Wednesday 19).

The Regional Roadshow is being delivered in partnership with Transport for NSW as part of The Knock-On Effect campaign. The campaign reminds youths of the “knock-on” effect that one bad decision behind the wheel can have on an entire community.

“The 2025 Regional Roadshow campaign will continue to deliver important messages about road safety across NSW,” NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said.

“Road tragedies can have a devastating impact on local communities, and it is great to see our True Blues get behind the campaign and share their own experiences to help make a difference.”

Ryan played 12 games for NSW and was part of the squads that won back-to-back State of Origin series in 2004-05. He has also coached the CABE NSW Under 21s Men to three consecutive wins over Queensland in the past three years.

Hilder holds the distinction of being the first female coach in the Origin era and steered the Westpac NSW Blues Women to a memorable win in 2022. She also represented NSW in Origin, which started in 2018, and interstate matches before that.

Both Ryan and Hilder will share personal stories to spread the Knock-On Effect messaging. Ryan’s story draws attention to community impact, having lost three school mates in a crash on a property at age 16 while Hilder recounts her personal experiences of being the first on scene and rendering assistance at a fatal crash site.

The areas around the state that have been visited include Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Mudgee, Oberon, Wauchope, Blayney, Dubbo, Forbes, Leeton, Wagga Wagga, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, Tamworth, Narromine, Griffith, Shellharbour, Maitland, Wyong, Taree, Tamworth, Lismore, Macksville, Taree, Queanbeyan, Kurri Kurri and Sydney.
