Origin
State against state, mate against mate.
One of the fiercest and most popular rivalries in Australian sport was reignited on 8 July, 1980 as a change in eligibility criteria levelled the playing field for Rugby League's interstate contest. Since then, the NSWRL has administered the Westpac NSW Blues, who compete against the Queensland Maroons in the three-match Ampol State of Origin series.
History
New South Wales Rugby League respects and honours the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
